WHAT an a**hole. I was red faced because I had flown back into London from Key West the day before, where I had recuperated for a month from the strain of the trial. I had spent the whole night reading the entire document, which was a deep and profound lesson in perverse reasoning. On approaching the entrance to the High Court I was subjected to a bombardment with garbage and missiles by Lipstadt's supporters crowding outside, which the police on duty did nothing to prevent; I had had to remove my suit jacket, and was in consequence improperly dressed for the High Court, for which I had to send my apologies in to the judge.
