The Polish Resistance hero who was the first person to bring eyewitness information about the Holocaust to the West has had his account of his experience published in Poland. A Polish edition of Jan Karski's "Story of a Secret State" was launched late last month with a high-profile ceremony in Warsaw. Detailing the story of Poland's underground anti-Nazi Resistance movement, the book became an international best seller. Poland's postwar government, however, barred its publication because it did not fit the Communist version of history.
