Hitler and Christianity

DID Hitler sanction the Circular that Martin Bormann sent out to the Gauleiters on June 9, 1941 explaining the relationship between Nazism and Christianity?

Or did Bormann send it on his own initiative, without Hitler's knowledge or approval?

David Irving replies:

I was about to answer no, as Hitler kept out of religious decisions, but then I think again, and the answer is probably yes: this was likely the result of a Table Talk which Bormann sat in on, and he wrote a Vermerk (memorandum) in consequence and issued it as an ukase from the Führer -- that is the way a lot of "Führer orders" and decisions originated.
